The Iris Baseball Fields Have Been a Community Landmark Since 1957—Let’s Keep Them That Way!

For 67 years, the Iris Baseball Fields have been the heart of North Boulder, serving as the home of North Boulder Little League (NBLL) and a cherished gathering place for families, players, and fans. Now, Boulder County is planning to sell the land, putting the future of these historic fields at risk.

We, the undersigned, urge Boulder County and the City of Boulder to take action to preserve the Iris Fields in their current location and protect them for future generations of young athletes.

A Storied Legacy in Youth Baseball

• North Boulder Little League is one of the most accomplished Little League programs in the nation, winning 16 state championships—more than any other Little League in the country.

• In 2024, NBLL teams competed for state championships across all three age divisions and played on ESPN, bringing national recognition to Boulder’s baseball community.

• These fields have shaped thousands of young athletes, teaching them teamwork, discipline, and love for the game.

More Than Just Baseball—A True Community Hub

• The Iris Fields are a safe, welcoming space where our kids play, live, and learn. 

• For decades, families have gathered here to watch games, volunteer, coach, and create lasting friendships.

• Losing these fields would mean losing a piece of Boulder’s history—one that can never be replaced.

 We Need to Act Now

We urge Boulder County and the City of Boulder to:

1. Halt the sale and redevelopment of the Iris Baseball Fields.

2. Engage with the community to explore preservation options.

3. Pursue permanent protection for the fields through historic designation, public land dedication, or annexation by the City of Boulder.
