The Hills of Gold Wind Farm Environmental Impact Study is on public exhibition until Friday January 29. We need at least 50 objections to escalate the approval process to determination by the Independent Planning Commission. Please write an objection using the Make a Submission tab on the Major Projects Hills of Gold Wind Farm page.

If you prefer to send a hard copy letter, that is an option too. As you know the proposal would have an incredibly significant impact on the ecology of the mountain range from clearing native vegetation for transporting components and building roads, turbines, transmission lines and associated infrastructure, to removal of habitat for threatened species, potentially impacting threatened plant species, disruption of soil for earthworks, and impacts on runoff into creeks and rivers. Visually the proposal would totally change the step back in time ambience and immersion in nature experience for residents and visitors.
We encourage you to speak from your personal experience, your connection to the area, what you value, and what you want to see protected.
The proposed Hills of Gold Wind Farm is not a choice between fossil fuels and renewables, but a choice about environmentally sensitive siting of renewables.
The NSW Energy Infrastructure Roadmap and Electricity Infrastructure Investment Bill 2020 identify the significance of community consent for proposed developments.
The majority of the Nundle and Hanging Rock communities have signed petitions opposing the proposed Hills of Gold Wind Farm and do not want to destroy the environment to save the environment. Thank you for your very important contribution.
