Save The Green Spaces! Longton, Hutton, Surrounding Areas- Lancashire
The Issue
The proposal of building houses off Chapel Lane Longton, and opposite Hutton grammar school will have an effect on the wider community as well!
250 houses on Chapel Lane, one access road it looks like. 120 houses opposite Hutton Grammar School! A big concern is the amount of traffic that it’s going to cause especially since there’s not enough parking even at Spar in Longton. Parking, and traffic is going to be at an all time high. Not to mention there’s not going to be enough spaces for children to get an education- it will end up being overpopulated.
People of Longton are affected as is everyone in Hutton! The green belt is vital. They are affected in several different aspects if houses are being built on green spaces and areas!
- Lack of drainage- which means that more flooding- which can cause transport and services to be disrupted and houses to be destroyed.
- Lack of hospitals/primary care/secondary care and tertiary care services
- Lack of access, more traffic and congestion.
- Lack of education- more need for primary schools, secondary schools and colleges.
- Lack of green spaces- which are needed for walking and spending time in- walking dogs etc. Can have a knock on effect for mental health.
Now is the time to act as the green spaces are vital not only for us as a community, but for wildlife and biodiversity. It will also enable us to secure these spaces for future generations.
