Dear neighbors and friends, 

As members of the 29th Street Neighborhood Association and local residents, we are very concerned about the plans to demolish the First Moravian Church and its adjoining rectory located at the corner of Lexington Avenue and 30th Street. 

The building is over 175 years old! It was home to two very important congregations. The historical importance to our City speaks for itself.  The church building and rectory play a huge role in defining the sense of place that is crucial to the identity of Rose Hill, Murray Hill and NoMad.  We urge the members of Community Board Five and the Landmarks Preservations Commission to do everything in their power to preserve and protect these important historical structures from demolition.  

Through this petition, we hope to pressure our local representatives to stop this demolition. Thank you.
