Owner-occupied Small Family Farms—arguably the heart and soul of Napa Valley—have historically manifested fidelity to the “highest and best use” General Plan declaration over Agricultural Watershed (AW) zoned land. For Small Family Farms to survive in a winemaking industry increasingly dominated by absentee-owners, the County of Napa must acknowledge Family Farms’ historical, cultural, and winemaking legacy by permitting modifications to allow limited tastings together with direct-to-consumer sales.

We will be presenting to the Board of Supervisors on December 18, at 9:00 AM at the Napa County Administration Building: 1195 Third Street.

This is a very important meeting because the supervisors will be presenting their Strategic Plan Draft (https://www.countyofnapa.org/2414/Napa-County-Strategic-Plan where they want to hear Public Input on in order to make it a final draft, which they will enable for the next 3+ years. We want our initiative to be included and taken seriously.

Members of Save the Family Farm will be speaking at this meeting and we need your physical presence too. Our strength is in our numbers...and how impactful would it be to have a full house in support of small Napa farms?
