Save the Ducks in Pinetree Village

Save the Ducks in Pinetree Village
The Issue
Hi fellow neighbors,
About 9 months ago, 14 ducks arrived at my doorstep. I took it upon myself to provide them with water, food, and shelter. They became a part of my daily routine, coming and going from sunrise to sunset. I even helped them cross the street to keep them safe. Over time, some of them found mates and moved on, but a few remained. However, 6 months ago, I received a letter from the PineTree Village Homeowners Association demanding that I stop providing water to the remaining 4 ducks or face eviction. I have continued to care for these ducks from afar as I have witnessed them struggle to find water and survive in this increasingly hot weather.
These ducks have been a part of our neighborhood for some time now, peacefully coexisting with the peacocks, squirrels, birds, cats, possums, etc. They have not caused any disturbances or harm but have simply found a place to call home. Recently, I have been facing harassment and threats from a member of the Homeowners association, Steve. Despite not actively providing food and water for these animals anymore, it is difficult to see them being targeted after they have relied on me for so long.
This morning, I was confronted by Steve, who accused me of retaining the ducks and demanded an explanation for why they are still present in the neighborhood. He was visibly upset and threatened to take the matter into his own hands by calling someone to dispose of the ducks. In addition, he showed no concern for the well-being of the ducks, claiming that the neighbors had been continuously complaining and that he receives daily calls regarding this issue when in fact, that’s not the case. I’ve spoken to the neighbors about this matter and have never heard any comments or complaints about the ducks. In fact, I’ve only received compassion, love, and support from surrounding neighbors.
I strongly believe that it would be inhumane to subject these ducks to further hardship, especially considering the challenges they have already faced. I urge you to support this petition to save the ducks from capture and to prevent further animal cruelty in our neighborhood. Having been a resident here for over 10 years, I've witnessed the care and compassion our community shows toward our wildlife and the environment. Your signature can help prevent further harm to any other animals in PineTree Village.
Let's protect our environment and the gentle creatures that call it home.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
