In 2021 the Kingman City Council approved and funded the Downtown Infrastructure Design project. The vision is to revitalize Beale Street by improving walkability, safety, and aesthetics all while maintaining the historic character. These improvements will include: ADA compliant sidewalks, ADA ramps and ADA driveways, improved storm drainage, adding drought tolerant landscaping, wayfinding, street furniture, bike racks, better street lighting, bump-outs, clearly marked crosswalks, and mid block crossings. The city has invested $520,000 in this project so far and construction is set to start soon. Unfortunately, it has come to our attention that a small group of people are working behind the scenes to shelve these much needed repairs and upgrades. That is why we are asking the community to please show your support for the Downtown Infrastructure Design project.
