Growing up with elderly grandparents, I’ve seen how vital social spaces are for older people. They thrive on connection, and the Dingle Centre in Winsford has long been that lifeline for residents over 55.

Now, it faces demolition to make way for more parking spaces. Parking matters, but not more than people as this building has been used by the whole community for a number of uses. Losing the Dingle Centre would leave our community without a place to gather, laugh, and belong, a place that supports mental health, friendship, and community spirit.

Instead of tearing it down, let’s revive and modernise the Dingle Centre -  restoring it as a vibrant hub for older residents and the wider community alike.

We call on Labour Cheshire West and Chester Council to rethink these demolition plans and work with locals to find a better solution.
