Save the Delaware Thunder Professional Hockey Club - Renew Their Arena Lease!

Save the Delaware Thunder Professional Hockey Club - Renew Their Arena Lease!
The Issue
The loyal Delaware Thunder fanbase and the surrounding community of Harrington, the state of Delaware, and Eastern Shore, Maryland, are on the verge of losing a beloved and growing sports team for potentially 2 years until a new arena can be constructed.
The GM, Bill DiMondi, of the Delaware State Fair, Inc., has single-handedly, without the consultation and input of the 80 member Fair Board of Directors, decided not to renew the lease. By not allowing the Delaware Thunder to continue to play professional hockey at the Centre Ice Arena in Harrington, DE, this will adversely affect the local community and state that the Fair resides and claims to support.
Many businesses such as restaurants, hotels, stores, etc. will all be losing revenue that is brought in by having the players live locally, fans visit the city for every home game, and opposing teams that travel and stay here. The Delaware Thunder also give back to the local communities through player visits at schools, hospitals, businesses, and contributions to great organizational causes such as Tunnels to Towers Foundation, Cancer Awareness, local First Responders, and many others.
We, the Delaware Thunder fans and community members of Delaware and Eastern Shore, Maryland, ask that you help support us and show to the Delaware State Fair Board of Directors the positive impact the Delaware Thunder Professional Hockey Club has on our community. The Delaware Thunder need to have their lease renewed so that they may continue to support the local community and grow the sport of hockey in Delaware.
