Please, please continue sharing this petition! It is crucial that we keep the momentum going! We need to bring about change for the wild horses of Cumberland Island.
I just visited Cumberland Island again last week and made some interesting discoveries. After watching the horses and doing some research, I realized that the horses' biggest need is not forage or population control - it's minerals! Georgia is especially deficient in Selenium, which is a crucial mineral for pregnant and lactating mares. As soon as possible, the Cumberland horses need to be taken mineral blocks so that they can gain weight. I will keep you updated as I work with the NPS.
Thank you for signing and for your support! The picture of the yearling is one I took last week. Any name ideas for him?
