SAVE THE COMMUNITY WAREHOUSE!

You may be aware that there is a Community Warehouse on 47 Thames Road, (IG11 0HQ) run by Participatory City/Every One Every Day.

The space is amazing, huge and free to everyone - running FREE workshops in pottery, carpentry, textiles, plastics recycling, 3D printing, gardening, cookery and much more!

It even offers free venue meeting spaces with children's play areas.

Over the last few years the space has helped create local start up businesses from candle making to Grounded Coffee. It has also supported a range of community work from youth activities to workshops on tackling street crime.

More importantly, the warehouse is a hub for local people to talk to their neighbours, make friends and enjoy a warm cosy communal free space

It is possible that the warehouse will be leased out for commercial rent.

Currently, we are not aware of any buyers and the site may remain vacant for a long time before anyone steps in.

We are starting a petition to demonstrate the social value in keeping this space open and free to residents for all the purposes listed above.

We are asking Barking & Dagenham Council to step in and support residents in keeping the space open for its current purpose.

The Council are committed to helping keep vacant buildings accessible to the public if interest can be shown.

By signing up now YOU can help keep this community space accessible for residents across the borough.

If you want to save the community warehouse PLEASE sign this petition.

Thank you for your support!
