Protect Our Green Spaces

The Issue

There is a motion to convert many properties now used as community gardens, green spaces, and community spaces in Brewerytown into new “affordable” housing. While affordable housing is important, so are these shared green & community spaces. Green spaces (among many other benefits) improve air quality, provide educational opportunities, and improve mental health. Furthermore, the “affordable” housing options being proposed are very close to market price, bringing into question the value of this motion. Please stand with us in asking our city council to stop this green space from being converted into housing so that it can continue to be a shared resource for our community.
