The Cineplex Queensway in Etobicoke has been a beloved fixture in our community for years, offering entertainment, relaxation, and joy to countless residents. Yet, despite its significant role in our lives, this cherished cinema is at risk of being demolished to make way for more condos. This petition is a heartfelt plea to preserve this vital hub of culture and leisure.

Situated in a bustling area of Etobicoke, the Cineplex Queensway is more than just a cinema; it's where friends gather, families bond, and memories are made. Its potential closure means that there won't be another cinema for miles around, leaving a cultural void in our area. We must rally together to protect this crucial component of our community's social fabric.

The economic and social benefits of maintaining the Cineplex Queensway are manifold. According to community studies, local cinemas contribute significantly to the vibrancy of neighborhoods, enhancing property values and boosting local businesses. Furthermore, cinemas like the Queensway provide essential employment opportunities for our youth and help stimulate the economy in ways that benefit everyone.

Our community deserves balanced development that reflects the needs of all its members. While residential growth is essential, it should not come at the expense of valuable cultural amenities. We urge city planners and local developers to reconsider their plans and explore solutions that include preserving the Cineplex Queensway, whether through adaptive reuse, integrating it into proposed developments, or seeking alternative sites for new housing.

Help us send a powerful message to our local government and developers that cultural landmarks must be preserved for future generations. Sign this petition to save the Cineplex Queensway, an indispensable part of Etobicoke’s community life and heritage.
