Dear signatories,

Thank you again for supporting this petition to save the CCA.

Here is an update on the next steps:

  1. From today, please email MSP Alison Thewliss (campaign@alisonthewliss.scot) who is the member of the Scottish Parliament for the CCA's constituency. We can request for her to back this campaign to save the CCA and to raise this in the Scottish Parliament. The more emails she receives the more pressure there will be to save the CCA. Please find a draft email to send to MSP Alison Thewliss at the bottom of this update.
  2. Tomorrow we will email Creative Scotland informing them of the campaign to save the CCA and urging CCA's Board to stop the liquidation process and provide the funding for the CCA to reopen its doors.
  3. We are requesting for all legal professionals to get in touch with the petition (savethecca@gmail.com) to support any possibility of a legal challenge to the CCA's liquidation.

All of the above action points will be possible with your support but we need more signatories to be effective in challenging the CCA's permanent closure. We urge everyone to share as far and as wide as possible, we can only save the CCA if we come together in solidarity.

Email Subject: Request for your support to save the CCA

Dear MSP Alison Thewliss,

I am writing as a signatory of the petition calling for urgent action to save the Centre for Contemporary Arts (CCA) in Glasgow.

The CCA is a vital cultural institution that has supported artists, audiences and communities in Scotland for decades. It provides essential space, resources, visibility and connection for artists, arts organisations and communities. Creative Scotland's decision to withdraw funding and the CCA Board's decision to liquidate the organisation and make all staff redundant represents a profound loss and irreversible blow to Scotland’s cultural ecosystem.

I urge you to support the campaign to save the CCA and to raise this issue in the Scottish Parliament. Creative Scotland and the Scottish Government have a responsibility to explore all possible alternatives to liquidation, including emergency intervention or collaborative solutions that would allow the CCA to continue operating.

This is an important moment to demonstrate that arts and culture are valued and supported in Scotland, and I hope you will support urgent action to save the CCA, its workers and the thousands in our communities across Glasgow and beyond who benefit from the CCA.

Yours Sincerely,

[NAME]
