Thank you again, dear supporters for your signatures. We are almost at 100 signatures (just 3 away) - a significant milestone for a petition that started about 5 days ago.
The petition has resulted in families coming forward with details of their ancestors who lie buried in the cemetery which has now been illegally and unjustly desecrated.
If you have any information on the cemetery or what happened there over the years, please email me at : savethecemetery@gmail.com.
If you have ideas & suggestions on how we can improve our cause - please send them through.
Please share this article and remind others to sign our petition. Share it on your twitter, your facebook & any groups and online forums you belong to. Email or phone a friend, relative, co-worker. We need all the help we can get.
I started this fight about 5 years ago, some families started before that. We've hit brick walls. We've come across insensitive, incompetent, lazy and uncaring people along the way. The thought of giving up crossed our minds...
But not now. Not with the support you have now given us !
Our cause is a just cause. We are fighting for our dignity as South Africans, and for the dignity of those affected families. We are fighting for accountability and transparency. Is that too much to ask ?
Take a look at this short video I took some time last year. If we don't stand up now, our own neighbourhoods will look like this in time to come.
kind regards
Kuben
