Why this petition matters

Started by Sam Cuninghame

The ACT Government is planning to rip up part of the Canberra criterium circuit to make way for more playing fields.

This is the only road cycling criterium circuit in the entire ACT.

There are already hundreds of playing ovals throughout the ACT.

This petition calls on the ACT Government to preserve the criterium circuit in it's current state.

The 1.2km Stephen Hodge Criterium Circuit was opened in December 2006. Now, just 13 years later, the current ACT Government wants to rip part of it up for the sake of a few playing ovals. Why?

THIS IS NOT OK.

If you've loved riding or racing your bike at this facility and want your kids to be able to ride in a traffic free environment in the future, now is the time to tell the ACT Government to keep their hands off the crit track.

Please sign this petition and pass it on to anyone who has cycled/raced/trained or learnt to ride on this fantastic facility.

Send a message to the ACT Government that the sport of cycling deserves a purpose built facility that isn't cannibalised for the sake of a few ovals (Canberra already has hundreds of playing fields).

HANDS OFF OUR CRIT TRACK!
