• Milkweed and Dandelions are essential for pollinators to survive.
• Dandelions also help bring essential nutrients to surrounding plants, aerate the soil, and prevent erosion.

What can we in Rockland Do?

• Embrace no Mow May – this leads to a 500% increase in pollinators and 300% increase in species variety.
• Remove Milkweed and Dandelions from the banned plant list - these are crucial to pollinators, especially in the early spring when many flowers haven’t bloomed yet.
