Time for the bad news! Butterfly Gardens has submitted an SB35 application to build 21 townhomes. To summarize, SB35 overrides local city control and streamlines their building approvals to 90 days.

After being met with resistance for a year and a half Butterfly Gardens decided to throw in the towel on their office buildings. They claim they are proud of their efforts in trying to work with the community. But, let's be clear - They have worked with no one. The community has proved time and again that we just want to keep our equestrian centric neighborhood and our last horse boarding facility.

Butterfly Gardens assured the community that everyone wanted their office buildings. They claimed they weren't demolishing anything and that they were building for the community. How can you build for the community if the community doesn't want you there in the first place?

At the last Burbank City Council meeting the Vice Mayor rescinded his agenda item to purchase the stables. He replaced it with an agenda item for staff to prepare a report to know what the demand was for horse boarding facilities in Burbank.

There will be a council meeting December 13th at 6pm regarding 910 S Mariposa. Make your voices heard!  Show up in person or call during the meeting at 818-238-3335. Leave an E-comment. Here is how to leave an E-comment online https://webcontent.granicusops.com/content/burbank/ecomments-ug.pdf

We are still in a losing fight and we always have been! But, it's the voices like yours that can make a difference. We don't want to give up. Please don't give up. Email city council. Let them know it's still not safe to have these building here. There has to be something that can be done!!! Let them know the demand for horse boarding facilities! How can we get the state involved? The state is the reason this is happening in the first place. Email or call your state officials. If you're from Los Angeles or Glendale get your city council involved. This is the only entrance to Griffith Park for us. We have to do something.

CityCouncil@Burbankca.gov please email them now. Don't wait until it's too late.
