We have reached an all important milestone today - hitting the 1,400 signatures barrier!

As of today (7th January 2026) there are no further updates on the "British Rail Class 455" Wikipedia page.

It has been exactly a week since my last sighting of a Class 455 at Wimbledon Depot on the way to see the New Year's Eve fireworks in Central London, so at the moment not all are scrapped, but we need to take action IMMEDIATELY before it indeed becomes too late!

At minimum even if a door, a window, a Vossloh Kiepe traction motor, a wheel or even a third-rail contact show from one of these units can be preserved, that would be much better than the entire class effectively becoming "extinct" like the recently scrapped Class 442 and Class 456 trains. Preserving a driving cab from one of these units would be a bonus.

Unfortunately in one of my previous posts, I (the petition starter) do not have any social media accounts such as Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn so if someone could do me a favour and share this petition on one of those platforms that would be great!
