Save the Bridal Industry - Exclude Bridal Attire From Tariffs

Save the Bridal Industry - Exclude Bridal Attire From Tariffs
The Issue
Asking for help – for our business, for our families, and for our brides.
My mother and I own a bridal boutique in SW Florida. She is a master of custom work and changes, while I assist brides and manage our business. Together, we work diligently to keep our business thriving in an industry we both cherish.
We are not alone. Businesses all over the country work in this industry for the exact same reason.
We do this for a living because we all LOVE it. We love making brides feel special from the moment they walk through the door, sharing this experience with them, and seeing them glow when they finally find their dream dress. They become part of our family.
Those days are diminishing due to new tariffs and restrictions. This petition seeks to gather ample support from every bridal shop across the country to take action and create meaningful change.

Every designer has faced a surcharge increase of 18% to 40% on wholesale merchandise, forcing us to either absorb the cost or pass it on to the brides. It breaks the heart of every business owner to inform a bride that her dream dress is now out of her budget due to surcharges that add hundreds of dollars to the initially quoted price.
Nearly all wedding gowns are produced in China, even if the designers are located in the United States. It would be a dream to see gowns manufactured in this country. However, as business owners, we understand that this will take years, and our businesses won’t survive that long.
This will ruin us. Brides will turn to alternative sources that can’t match the quality of individual shops. To prevent this from happening, we will have to lay off employees. We will no longer be able to order new stock. Ultimately, we will be forced to decide to close our doors.

Across the nation, we stand as a powerful force. Please sign this petition and share it with every bridal store you know! Let’s demonstrate to our elected officials just how many small businesses are affected nationwide by these policy changes.
Thank you
Thank you to every shop that supports this cause, on behalf of ourselves, our families, and our beautiful brides.
