Save the Boys and Girls Club After School Program!

The Issue

The Boys and Girls Club After School Program has served the Los Nietos, Little Lake, and Whittier school district's for years and has been a lifeline for so many families and children in our community. It has provided a safe haven where children can learn, grow, and create bonds that last a lifetime. For me, this is not just a program; it's a community staple that has offered my child, and countless others, opportunities they wouldn't have had otherwise.

As a parent, I have seen firsthand the positive impact it has on our children. From providing academic support and mentorship to offering engaging extracurricular activities, this program fills a vital gap. Many parents in our community rely on it, especially those who work long hours to make ends meet. I myself am one of those parents. The program not only ensures that our children are in a safe environment, but it also nurtures their talents and reinforces the values of respect, responsibility, and perseverance.

However, due to what we assume are recent budget cuts, this invaluable resource is at risk of being shut down. According to a report by the National Afterschool Association, programs like these reduce risky behaviors and help bridge the opportunity gap. If we let this program vanish, we're leaving our children vulnerable to negative influences and taking away a path that leads them toward success.

We must act now to ensure that the Boys and Girls Club After School Program continues to serve our community. We urge local authorities to reconsider the decision on budget allocations and explore alternative funding sources. Grant opportunities, community partnerships, and fundraising campaigns can all be tapped into to preserve this crucial program.

Our children's future should be a priority. Let's come together to support this cause and ensure that every child has access to the opportunities they deserve. Please sign this petition to save the Boys and Girls Club After School Program and invest in our children's future. Thank you for your support!!
