On Sunday, November 6th, The College of Fine Arts Administration at The University of Arizona paused recruitment for the BFA Acting/Musical Theatre and BFA/MFA Design & Technology degrees for the 2023-2024 school year.

Allegedly, the reasoning behind this decision is to allow a year “to innovate the curriculum." While current students have been promised that all of their degree requirements will be fulfilled, there is strong reason to believe this pending decision will affect the existence of these programs going forward.

Across the US, performing arts and design/tech programs are constantly being defunded and made the least priority by administration. We want to ensure that these programs stay alive for future Wildcats. Help support the theatre. Make your voices heard.
