In 2017, The Bedford County Listening Project was created to be a community outreach organization for renters in Bedford County. It thrived in the early years, but when Tristan started as lead organizer things entered a slow, but definite decline. We saw a noticeable drop off in attendance in meetings, as well as events, and a loss of community engagement. The community outreach diminished and Tristan began working on issues outside the community. Tristan has also gotten into verbal altercations, refused to listen to the input of members and leaders-- including those on the steering committee-- and support or training has not been provided, even when asked. We need an organizer whose primary focus is the renters in the community and does not get into altercations with members and leaders. We, the lifeblood of the BCLP, have addressed issues with the organizing team through proper channels and were ignored. Please stand with us, member or ally, in calling for the removal of Tristan Call as lead organizer, the promotion of JoAnne Vasil, the hiring of a Shelbyville renter, and a focus on all renters in Bedford County.

These are not a reflection of the wishes of JoAnne Vasil, but a reflection of those who volunteer their time and energy with the BCLP to assist in organizing renters.
