Petition updateSave the Barn, Save the Farm!TWO VICTORIOUS STEPS ON THE PATH TO PRESERVATION OF PATTERSON FARM!
Patterson Farm Preservation, Inc. 501c3
Aug 26, 2013
The Lower Makefield Township Zoning Hearing Board UNANIMOUSLY DENIED variances that would have allowed Commercial development on the 5.14 acre Satterthwaite parcel of Patterson Farm. We thank them for their wise decision. Last week Lower Makefield Township Supervisors agreed to enroll about 93 acres of the Patterson Farm in the PA Farmland Preservation program, safeguarding the land from development and ensuring its continued use for agriculture in perpetuity! THE PRESERVATION OF THE 93 ACRES IS TESTIMOMY TO THE POWER OF THE PEOPLE TO DEMAND ACTION FROM THEIR ELECTED OFFICIALS. When Lower Makefield township obtained Patterson Farm it encompassed nearly 234 acres of Pennsylvania's finest farmland. The conservation easement that will protect the 93 acres brings with it over $800,000 in state & county preservation funds that should be used to perpetually maintain the farm. The work for preservation goes on as we continue to DEMAND PRESERVATION FOR THE ENTIRETY OF PATTERSON FARM!
