This is a call-to-action for tradespeople to express interest in a collaborative community effort to restore Patterson Farm in Yardley, PA to remain true to its agricultural purpose.
Residents of Bucks County, PA have a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to preserve and restore our National Register Quaker heritage farm, settled in 1683 by William Penn’s Provincial Council member, Thomas Janney.
Since it’s acquisition in 1998 by Lower Makefield Township, the farms homes, barns and outbuildings have suffered from neglect. Today, options being considered by the governing body may significantly change the look of Patterson Farm and encroach upon farmland in use as a Community Supported Agriculture program. Your support can help save Patterson Farm as one of the last working vegetable farms along the I-295 corridor. Thoughtful restoration will allow Patterson Farm to continue to serve and teach appreciation for our important history, wildlife habitat and the art of agriculture. Help restore Patterson Farm for its approaching 350 year anniversary.
Your letter of interest sent to admin@pattersonfarmpreservation.org will demonstrate to governing officials the dedication of the Bucks County community to honor and continue our rich agricultural heritage. Time is of the essence. Pressure exists to “repurpose” the farm taxpayers voted to preserve.
We have a stewardship responsibility to this exceptional agricultural, historic and natural resource. Send your letter of interest today.
