The future of farming on Pennsylvania’s Patterson Farm faces another challenge! On Feb 3rd Lower Makefield Township Supervisors will meet to consider a long-term, rent-reduced lease for a historic farmhouse on Patterson Farm. Please add your voice to the volunteers of Patterson Farm Preservation, Inc. who oppose the proposed lease as written for a number of reasons, most especially because it allows further encroachment onto the farm by a non-agricultural tenant whose use conflicts with zoning. Patterson Farm is located within an Agricultural Security District. More suitable options are available that will allow the farmhouse to serve the farm and community, promote the continuation of agriculture in Bucks County, and earn substantially more income to support farm preservation.
