Peacocks have graced the Bardon neighbourhood around Outlook Crescent, Vista Street and Gordon Road for the past 50 years.

These tame, beautiful creatures have delighted residents and visitors alike, wandering up and down our streets, roosting in the high Maculata trees at night.

Now, after a few mean-spirited complaints to Brisbane City Council, BCC has decided to reverse their decades long policy of humane peacock population management, and announced an unprecedented total cull of the entire peafowl population.

BCC did not consult residents, some of whom have lived side by side our peacocks as their families have grown up around them.
