I’m writing this in hopes I can get many signatures to help the doors stay open to this wonderful house. This home brought a fresh start to so many beautiful women. It’s where we found strength in ourselves and in our community to push through our addictions. I found a new sense of self-respect and for the first time in a long time felt the peace within. What many don’t know is that addiction is a disease. We don’t plan it; it simply starts to take over. This house has taught many how to cope and heal from this disease. How to love ourselves and heal the past traumas that keep us in the horrible cycle of using. This non-profit needs to stay open to continue to help generations to come. Without their guidance and love in our community we would see a lot more addicts who want to know a better way but don’t have the access to it! Our community is better due to the Athena house and all the beautiful, restored souls that walked out. The house has a high success rate, because of the highly skilled counselors and directors. THEY CARED and continue to care when no one else would. Help me spread the word and keep this house open so they can continue to help our beautiful community and keep the legacy of so many years and clients alive. This is our home for those who’ve attended, volunteered and have had the blessing to be a part of this beautiful House. Without this house Sonoma County woman would be losing their chance at a new sober and clean way of life.
