Save the ASC Thrift Shop

Save the ASC Thrift Shop
The Issue
The USAF Academy community is shocked to hear about the upcoming closure of the ASC Thrift Shop.
The ASC Thrift Shop has been owned and operated by the Academy Spouses Club since the 1950s and is a reliable part of our military community on the Air Force Academy. A strong network of volunteers has kept the ASC Thrift Shop running ever since and still is.
The people who put in their extra time and are passionate about support the non-profit mission of the ASC Thrift Shop as well as the members of the USAFA community, are shocked by the sudden and upcoming closure.
There has been no reason given and we as a community feel like we will suffer a tremendous loss of a great resource. Not only does the ASC Thrift Store offer affordable clothes and household items to our military community, it also supports communication and integration, consignment and donations as a part of sustainability and being part of offering a great and diverse community program on our wonderful base.
We want to show that we care! We care about the ASC Thrift Store and its part in our community, we care about the reasoning that has not been given for its closure and we care for a place to go within our military community, that offers everything mentioned above.
Please reconsider the planned closure.
Thank you,
The USAFA military community
