You all helped us to reach a big milestone by signing our petition to Save the Arb. We just recorded 5,000 signatures! Thank you! We know that many more people support our petition.
Early leaders of the University of Michigan planned well to provide the Arb as an open space that supports nature, science and the arts. We are grateful for their foresight, respect for and plans to protect the natural qualities that they acknowledged over 120 years ago. Because of those early City and University decisions, we can now experience the multiple environmental benefits of the Arb: cooling, filtering air and water, sequestering carbon, and providing habitat for plants and wildlife. Within steps of the bustling campus, with its often intense demands of study, work schedules and weighty decisions, we can be surrounded by the Arb space that provides a calming break and a dose of Vitamin N(ature).
Let's take a beat to thank each other and to extend our reach to support the Arb. Please forward the change.org/savethearb link to family, friends, alumni, and all who you know appreciate nature and their Arb experiences. Let's extend the reach of the earlier decision makers and continue to give the gift of the Arb as an intact natural area for the future.
