Arabian leopards are a crucial part of Saudi’s cultural heritage, for they have been with our ancestors since the beginning of time, leading back to hundreds or even thousands of years ago. Arabian leopards helped our ancestors preserve plant life by feasting on harmful herbivores and grazers. Despite this, many citizens feel unsafe around them, and have resorted to habitat degradation, habitat fragmentation, and even direct persecution. As a result, the population of Arabian Leopards are lower than 150 individuals. In spite of the country enforcing several laws against hunting these creatures, it still doesn’t help to spread awareness about the near extinction of this species. We need to band together as a country to save them!
