The Issue
MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to protect the unity, integrity, and long-standing success of our school community by opposing the proposed separation of the Upper and Lower Academies. Established in 1958, this school has served generations of families and has remained an A-rated school for the past 25 years, a testament to the strength, dedication, and collaboration of its community.
This school is more than a building- it is a deeply rooted family with a deeply rooted culture. For decades, students, parents, educators, and staff have grown together, supporting one another and creating a safe, deeply rooted culture, inclusive environment where every child is known, valued, and empowered. The connection between the Upper and Lower Academies fosters mentorship, leadership, and continuity, forming bonds that cannot be replaced or replicated if the school is divided.
This petition exists to ensure that the voices of parents, students, educators, and community members are heard and respected in decisions that directly impact our children. We believe that dismantling a successful, diverse, and tightly knit school to address systematic enrollment challenges elsewhere is neither equitable nor educationally sound.
We stand together to advocate for transparency, meaningful collaboration, and solutions that preserve what works. Our children deserve stability, emotional security, and an educational environment grounded in trust and strong relationships. Separating this school would fracture a family that has been built since 1958 and would cause lasting academic, social, and emotional harm.
Through this petition, we call on decision-makers to pause this action, engage in genuine dialogue, and commit to keeping our school united- for our children, for future generations, and for the family we proudly call our school.
