The agricultural reserve was set aside many years ago so Palm Beach County would continue to have farm land and area for other agricultural ventures.    In fact, back in the late 1990s, the people of Palm Beach County paid for a substantial part of the acquisition of the reserve by the County Commissioners and to date, the County Commissioners have been selling off the reserve bit by bit to development and other commercial ventures.
