Save the '8' displaced people in UK who risk being deported by tomorrow evening
The Issue
This petition is to prevent the government from sending displaced peoples from being sent against their will to Rwanda. This is going to happen on Tuesday 14th June tomorrow evening.
This to me is unlawful.
The British government has no proper plan that places these people first in their 'plans'. I know I’ve left this too late, but I need to do something. I feel alone in this, but know I'm not alone. The 8 displaced people have escaped from volatile conflicts. Ukraine is one of them.
This is because the current Ministry wants to deter asylum seekers away from the UK (more so via the Channel) to prevent dangerous crossings.
There is a difference between risking your livelihood to start a new chapter, and leaving your home as a result. When you think and feel you have to illegally enter, knowing, thinking, and feeling, there is no other home to go to. These people are risking their lives.
They are human, just like you and me.
It's decent to show your humanity by giving them sanctuary. They have made an arduous journey, where others have perished.
This attitude shown by the Government is not only repugnant but clearly xenophobic. They came here (to the UK), in search of sanctuary. If they wanted to go to Rwanda, they would’ve gone there. What the UK government is contributing to is a lack of (more likely, void of), morals and not considering seriously, the implications of the ethics in relation to safeguarding vulnerable, and displaced people; and people who are leaving their homes because of war.
What if this happened to you?
They did not ask to come here, but they have come here because they have no home to go to. If they do go back, they risk facing death. Many have perished, how many more?
Time will tell.
Please, save them before it’s too late.
If this is successful, I aim to send it to my local Council and was going to send it to Parliament, though the latter has already made up their mind.
I will be sending this message via email to my local council to see if they can do something.
As I've said before, I know I've left this too late, unfortunately, but will do what I can.
I will remain to be committed to such causes, and be as positive as one can be, in such a situation as this.
Thank you.
