Like many parents in our community, my son relies on the 489 bus route for his essential commute to school. The cancellation of this service threatens to disrupt not only his education but the lives of numerous residents who depend on it for transportation to work, healthcare, and essential services.

The 489 bus route is a vital lifeline for our community. A significant portion of our population depends on public transport, and removing this service would have serious consequences. Furthermore, according to a report from the Confederation of Common Transport, public investment in bus services offers a strong return, with every £1 spent generating £4.55 in economic benefits, making the 489 bus route not just an essential service but also a gateway to community growth and development.
