Save Temecula Wine Country from Short Term Rentals

Save Temecula Wine Country from Short Term Rentals
Why this petition matters

The Temecula Wine Country Community Plan established three districts - Winery, Equestrian and Residential - to ensure long-term viability of the wine industry while protecting the community's equestrian and rural lifestyle. We seek to protect and preserve the distinctive character of this unique area. The additional traffic, commercial activities and expansion that comes with the growth of the beautiful Winery district are expected; however, the recent explosion of the short-term rental properties in Wine Country residential areas continues to disrupt the peaceful quality of life of our neighborhoods. STR's also remove housing stock for families wishing to live in Wine Country. We urge Riverside County to:
- Regulate short-term rentals in the Winery & Equestrian District so homes are no longer being sold to investors with the promise of becoming a profit-making commercial enterprise.
- Per the Community Plan, the purpose of the Wine Country Residential District is to encourage permanent estate lot residential stock to balance the tourism related activities. Only lodging per the Wine Country Community Plan should be allowed.
Act now by signing the petition, or soon we will no longer recognize Wine Country as the special place that it was envisioned to be.
