Save Taco House

Save Taco House
The Issue
As we know, John Coscarelli, owner of Taco House on Garfield Road in Traverse City, MI announced that he will be retiring and closing Taco House at the end of this year.
This news was met with shock and sadness from those who love Taco House.
For some of us, it’s our favorite place to eat lunch.
For some of us, we’ve been regulars since the doors opened in 1981.
For some of us, it’s our 1st stop when we come back home for a visit.
For some of us, our parents took us there, and now we take our children there.
Whatever the reason, it means something to all of us and we are not ready to say goodbye for good.
According to Traverse City Ticker, John says "As of now I’m retiring and the business is closing, but there may be interest expressed in the future in carrying on, and I am willing to keep an open mind and talk about it."
While we all can understand John’s desire to retire, as he has worked so hard all these years, it doesn’t mean this has to be the end of Taco House. This petition is aimed at convincing John to consider options to carry on the name and the food at a new location. And to show anyone interested in investing in something that matters in Traverse City that you will continue to have a loyal following from locals, past locals, and summer vacationers alike.
Some options to consider:
- Continue to own the name and recipes and let one of your long-time employees (there are so many) manage the day-to-day responsibilities.
- Sell the business, and let someone else open under new management with the same food and customer service.
- A drive-thru only location to reduce expenses.
- A food truck at Little Fleet with a limited menu. (even if it’s seasonal)
No need to contribute anything. Just looking for your support to keep the food "coming".
