Dear friends and supporters of the Summerfield,
(including Quentin Tarantino - thank you for your encouraging words!)

Some current information...we are working on several paths - and we suggest "Action Steps" below.

• Creating irresistible community "support sentiment" that we can present to city elected officials and those involved in the real estate transaction that would end the theater.
• Seeking the support of our elected officials. We are asking that they declare their desire - shall the theater remain?
• The City Manager informs that they are prohibited by the city charter from formally voting on a "sense of the council" resolution. But, we want encourage them to declare their individual preference.
• We are also turning our heads to the improbable, to the ultimate plot twist:
• We are looking for an ANGEL, an investor, a patron, a savior who holds the notion and tradition of big screen movie-going sacred and believes people will always be awed by the experience movie theaters offer. Trends are ephemeral, the present is not predictive. Times change and there will be a new desire to come to theaters.
  Will the theaters be there?

ACTION STEPS:

• Keep telling your friends.  Share this email. Share the petition via Change.org. We are approaching 1,000 signers (we have 880 signatures at this writing), let's double that!

• Call and write the Santa Rosa City Council -  See link: https://www.srcity.org/1322/City-Council
• Open that website, click on each member and call. They are good people. Leave a respectful message and ask for their support. You can do it... really, you can.
• Come to the City Council meeting on Tuesday, July 9 at 4pm.  (Public Comments time to be determined - we will update)
• 100 Santa Rosa Ave, Santa Rosa (it's an institutional-looking building and the council chambers are upstairs)
• More information to come on the next Santa Rosa City Design Review Board zoning meeting, July 18... let's flood the zone!
