After he passed away when I was just six, Star Wars became a comforting constant, a way for me to keep his memory alive. When the sequel trilogy premiered, I was going through an incredibly dark period in my life. Then I watched 'The Force Awakens' and discovered Kylo Ren, or Ben Solo, portrayed brilliantly by Adam Driver. Through Ben Solo’s journey of struggle and redemption, I found a mirror to my own challenges and a pathway to healing. Adam Driver’s portrayal provided me with solace and strength, for which I am eternally grateful.

It is with great disappointment that I learned about Adam Driver’s initiative to further explore Ben Solo’s story. After investing two years in crafting the script for 'Star Wars: The Hunt For Ben Solo' alongside a director, Adam and his team presented the project to Lucasfilm. They loved it, recognizing the potential for Ben Solo’s narrative. However, when the project reached Disney, the very essence of what we fans wanted—to see Ben Solo survive and thrive—was dismissed.

Ben Solo's character deserves a second chance, much like many of us who saw our struggles reflected in him. Despite being a fictional character, his story is not just entertainment; it's a source of inspiration and courage for countless fans who have navigated their own battles. Knowing that such a carefully crafted narrative exists and could continue to inspire and bring joy to fans is both thrilling and heart-breaking, given its current shelving.
