No road through St. Catherine's Park. One park for all!
The Issue
St. Catherine's Park is a beautiful 200 acre public amenity between Leixlip and Lucan. It has been a parkland since the time of the Normans. Once threatened with housing development, it was bought by Michael D Higgins in 1996 on behalf of the state. Today, there are playing pitches, dog parks, a playground, river walks, woods, a BMX track, canoeing, fishing, and plenty of space for everyone. It is hugely popular and serves as a regional park for large parts of Dublin, Kildare and Meath.
Fingal County Council have plans to put a large road through this park to join up two motorways: the M3 and the M4. They will need to work with Kildare and South Dublin to do this. Say NO to this road, and the inevitable destruction of this vital communal 'green lung'.
We will collect your petitions and send them all to Fingal Co. Co. There is no need to sign this if you have already signed the hard copy.
