Initial archeological surveying at Spruce Bank is in the works!

The Wilton Historical Society just secured state funding to cover the costs. 

This initial survey will likely include ground penetrating radar and either resistance or conductivity surveying, i.e., searching for metal underground.

This is exactly what we asked for in our petition.

An archeological firm recommended by Connecticut's state archeologist will carry out the work.

I will reach out again once I have information on volunteer brush clearing on the property. It will likely be in the next few weeks.
