Save Spiderman Noir from cancellation by Amazon
The Issue
As fans of Spider-Noir, we were deeply disappointed by the news that there will be no second season. Spider-Noir offered a unique combination of the superhero genre, 1930s film-noir mystery, action, and a fresh take on the Spider-Man mythos.
We believe that Spider-Noir deserves a second season.
Spider-Noir showed that there is an audience for a different kind of superhero story.
Nicolas Cage embodied Ben Reilly, a washed-up private investigator trying to outrun his past as New York City's masked vigilante. Set in the 1930s during the Great Depression, Spider-Noir's distinct visual style, characters, and availability in both black-and-white and color separated it from other superhero television series.
Moreover, Spider-Noir received 11 Primetime Emmy nominations, which highlights the incredible effort and talent that went into every aspect of the show. According to Nielsen data cited in the entertainment press, Spider-Noir also recorded approximately 2.6 billion viewing minutes during its first six weeks.
Spider-Noir had only been available for a few months before its cancellation, and we believe its story deserves more time to unfold and more viewers deserve the opportunity to discover the series.
We respectfully ask Amazon MGM Studios, Prime Video, and Sony Pictures Television to continue Spider-Noir with a second season or another form of continuation. We ask this on behalf of fans who want to see more of Ben Reilly's heroic adventures and more of this unique interpretation of the superhero genre.
The cancellation does not have to be the end of Spider-Noir. We urge the companies involved not to end the adventures of this unusual Spider-Man after only one season. Fans who appreciate the show's gothic-noir atmosphere, characters, Nicolas Cage's performance, action, varied tone, and production design now have an opportunity to make their voices heard.
If you want to see more of Nicolas Cage as the washed-up private investigator Ben Reilly and believe Spider-Noir deserves a second season, please sign this petition and share it with other fans.
Every signature helps demonstrate that there is an audience that wants Spider-Noir to continue.
