Please read the following with some time in hand and save an animal shelter from closing.

Mr. Pranay Dutta is a top level executive who runs an animal shelter behind Pride Hotel along Major Arterial Road at New Town opposite to Axis Mall. It is a piece of land located in the 'Green Verge' of HIDCO and was allotted to Sonata Foundation that is an NGO run by him.

He's been working since the last 7 yrs hand in hand with Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate to rescue animals hit by vehicles on the road as well as sterilisation of dogs in the area. Just 2 days back trouble started when residents of surrounding apartment buildings have ganged up in preparation of the Durga Puja and have started laying pressure on him to close down the Shelter that has 183 cows and 85 dogs all reduced and incapable of living on-road life.

This year their pressure has reached new heights. One of them has reportedly filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) at High Court to evict the shelter. Police are helping him at every step but Police also can't help if HC order comes to evict and teh weak point lies in the fact that no Shelters for cows are allowed within HIDCO area. Their covert objective is to free up that land and do their Durga Puja there!

Need to mobilize all help to save the shelter in favour of the exemplary work that he's been doing all on his own resources.

Some people may have grievances that Sonata Foundation didn't help on some occasions when called. Requesting all to forget the differences for the time being and help to save thh shelter by signing. We must understand that every shelter has limitations.
