One of the great things about our River Rockers idea is that it takes the ballpark experience, in the words of Spinal Tap, "up to eleven".
We picture a true rock concert atmosphere during game nights at ABC Supply Stadium: loud music, stadium lights and the video board all working together to make you feel like you're not at just another ballgame-- you're at a rock show. For example, close your eyes and imagine how cool the player introductions could be, set to Queen's "We Will Rock You", or "I Wanna Rock" by Twisted Sister. Minor League Baseball's version of the famous Chicago Bulls intro!
And that energy would continue throughout the night. A DJ could fire up the crowd between innings with Run-DMC's "King of Rock" and Michael Jackson's "Rock With You". Local bands could be booked to perform before and after the game. Bars in Downtown Beloit could be tapped to host official "Snappy After Parties", with drink specials for fans who attended the game.
Of course the River Rockers mascot band would have a huge role as well. They could lip-sync popular songs, perform skits and take part in between inning promotions. Each mascot could be assigned a section in the stadium, leading cheers to see who has the loudest fans in the ballpark. One of our favorite ideas is building an animatronic River Rockers band (similar to Chuck E. Cheese) to help entertain kids in the playground.
The River Rockers rebrand could be carried over to non-game nights as well. Touring music groups could be scheduled for "Rock the Riverbend" outdoor concerts. Stadium tours for fans who want to go behind the scenes at the new ballpark could be called "Backstage with Snappy". One of owner Quint Studer's best ideas was to offer Airbnb rentals as his other team's stadium in Pensacola, Florida. We could do the same thing at ABC Supply Stadium, call it "Rock Yourself to Sleep".
So what do you think of these ideas? Certainly a lot different than what going to a game at Pohlman Field was like, right? We strongly believe that "Beloit River Rockers" is more than just a new name, it offers the opportunity for a whole new fan experience.
