Thanks everyone for your response to our poll. As expected, the majority (60%) voted to keep the Snappers name, only 5% said they like the new names announced by the team, and 35% said they would be okay with a rebranding, but don't like the names which have been proposed so far.

Which got us thinking: what if there was a way to rebrand the team, and still save Snappy? Back in the 90's, the team came up with all sorts of great alternate logos dressing up the Snappers mascot in different costumes. You can see a few of them above: Hippy Snappy, Hunter Snappy, Santa Snappy, Cupid Snappy, etc. Maybe something like this is the compromise that fans and management are looking for?

Look, we still love the idea of keeping the Snappers name, and updating the logo. But that doesn't seem to be enough to satisfy the organization. So instead of a Polka Pike mascot, why not dress Snappy up as a fisherman or polka dancer? Or fans have suggested new names paying tribute to Beloit's industrial history or the Rock River... Snappy as a factory worker? Snappy as a rock star?
