Save the Shepherds Bush Market Businesses CampaignLondon, United Kingdom

Jun 17, 2017
Please Object To The Planning Application Ref. 2017/01887/FUL and help protect the future of the Shepherd’s Bush Market Traders.
Dear all,
The Shepherd’s Bush Market Tenants’ Association (SBMTA) passionately ask for your support to please help the long standing, small businesses of Shepherd’s Bush Market.
Redevelopers who have caused much upset and distress to the market traders wish to cause further anguish by building on land that neighbours with Shepherd’s Bush Market, known as OLD LAUNDRY SITE, REAR OF 9-61 PENNARD ROAD. W12.
Please object to the redeveloper’s Application (Ref. 2017/01887/FUL) to the Hammersmith & Fulham Council.
Objection against this Application Reference 2017/01887/FUL may be submitted by entering into the Hammersmith & Fulham Planning department website by clicking on the following link: -

Objection Against Application 2017/01887/FUL
The following are a list of planning reasons why Application 2017/01887/FUL should not be permitted and should be objected to.
Reasons for Objection to Application 2017/01887/FUL : -
1. The proposed use in its current form is not sustainable.
2. The claim of high quality design and landscaping cannot be achieved by means of a
temporary permission.
3. Contrary to the developer’s claim reinvigoration, reinvention and reinvestment cannot be achieved to ensure the long term success of Shepherd’s Bush Market.
4. No evidence has been produced that the temporary development will create increased turnover and footfall for the existing market.
5. The application includes a series of untested assumptions, which attempt to promise an attraction for small businesses, which on reflection are hollow.
6. The market traders resent the term “test bed to determine what works best for the future investment of the market”. They do not see themselves or their established businesses as “guinea pigs”.
7. The application has emerged not from a coherent and considered development plan but an attempt to achieve a retrospective justification for what is in essence an unsightly and muddled site.
Objections should ideally be submitted by Tuesday 20th June 2017 however objection can still be submitted after this date.
Every Objection will make a difference!
Thank you for your support and sympathy for the Shepherd’s Bush Market Community.
The SBMTA.
