My name is Jerem Fernandez and I have lived in Florida my whole life. Our oceans are home to incredible marine life, but one special species is in danger; the scalloped hammerhead shark. These sharks play a huge role in keeping the ocean balanced by controlling fish populations, but their numbers are dropping fast due to overfishing and habitat destruction. They are often caught accidentally in fishing nets, and some are hunted for their fins. Without them, the ocean’s ecosystem could suffer. Florida’s waters have been a home to these sharks for generations, and it’s our responsibility to protect them before it’s too late.
