Dear Friends of Sailor Bar,

A lot has been happening! Here are some updates!

If you see are correspond with our fearless leader Jodi, be sure to thank you for her heroic efforts on behalf of Sailor Bar and our community. Jodi is working tirelessly and she is the glue keeping us all together. Thank you Jodi!

Updates

• Jodi called Supervisor Kennedy's office and was told that "Supervisor Kennedy is not going to put Sailor Bar on the agenda because there is not an appetite by the Board of Supervisors to have it on the agenda, and that the Board of Supervisors approved the plan already." Jodi asked what is meant by "appetite" and was told that no one on the Board has requested SB as an agenda item, and Kennedy is focused on issues within his district.  Supervisor Desmond would need to have a discussion with Chairperson Supervisor Kennedy, and Kennedy would need to agree to put it on the agenda.  It was suggested we go to the Board of Supervisors meeting as a non agenda item. 

• The Board of Supervisors meeting is Tuesday, February 27 at 9:30 am, 700 H Street.  The more people we have to show up the better impact.  Individuals can speak for 2 minutes each.

• We are working reviewing options to hire an attorney with CEQA experience, an ways to fund this.  A future update will include details about this effort.

•  We are are approaching this as an environmental issue, and a safety issue.  The CEQA attorney and Environmental groups are our resource for the Environmental issues.  Jodi has requested letters from a number of environmental groups (Sierra Club, Audubon, SARA, and others for a file).

• Look for an article in Fair Oaks magazine by Elizabeth Bailey supporting Sailor Bar.

What you can do to help: 

Send letters regarding your concerning experiences in Sailor Bar prior to 2009 (when the gates were previously open to Jodi (jodi@artisticinteriorsbyjodi.com). We need to provide a record of why we we feel so strongly about this issues.
