Save Robin. Don’t let the Sheriff kill this dog

The Issue

Oasis Pet Rescue save so many dogs, they want to Save Robin but this is their story  please sign petition to save Robin  thank you

On 11/30 Oasis Per Rescue founders visited the Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office Animal Control Service to pull a single dog. While we were there we were also to transport several other dogs for Humane Society of Highlands County. Two of those dogs were Batman and Robin pictured below. I (Emily) am a huge Jack Russell fanatic and was excited to see these boys and hopeful to work with them as they were very fearful. We got them out of their kennel with no problem, and were able to load Batman into the car, however Robin was very scared and screaming in distress. An untrained animal control officer came out and attempted to “help” which I asked him not to do as the dog was scared and I did not want anyone to get bit. The man ignored me and grabbed the dog and tossed him in my car getting bit in the process.

At this point I thought we were in the clear and the dogs were safe, but Javier Gonzales the supervisor came out with a catch pole. Pulled Robin from my car as he defecated in fear and drug him screaming from his brother Batman. I was literally in tears watching. We told Officer Gonzales we would return for Robin on the 10th and left thinking it was unfortunate but a happy ending was still on the horizon. Sadly, today I was notified he would not be released to us and instead would be killed.

I advocated for Robin and begged for him to be released to us but was told no that it was against policy. I can’t even describe how sad and angry I am for these dogs. Batman and Robin never had a chance at a good life. Their owners were irresponsible and never vaccinated or neutered them then dumped them at a shelter where they were terrified. Then two men tasked with their care completely let them down. Robin will never be reunited with his brother.

I’m literally heartbroken that he has to spend his last days of his very short life afraid. Knowing his last moments will be spent with people who don’t care for him.

I’m told this decision was to protect the Okeechobee Sheriff’s office so please join with me to let them and the County Shelter know how disgusted you are with their policies. Do it for Robin, and do it for his brother who misses him!

Please send an email to these folks who can save Robin  demand they don’t kill him
