Save Rehobeth High School ROTC Program (VNO made)
The Issue
The Viking Nation Organization stands united in support of the Rehobeth High School ROTC program, a crucial initiative that empowers our youth, fosters leadership, and instills a sense of duty and honor. For many students in Houston County, Alabama, this program is not just an extracurricular activity – it is a lifeline, a source of pride, and a formative experience that shapes their development as responsible citizens.
The Rehobeth ROTC program, however, is under threat due to budget cuts and administrative changes. This invaluable program has been instrumental for countless students, providing them with opportunities to develop discipline, leadership skills, and a sense of community. Statistics show that ROTC programs like ours increase graduation rates, improve academic performance, and build leadership skills in young people who need it the most.
Losing this program would not only impact the students currently enrolled but also the entire community of Houston County. It serves as a bridge for students to connect with military careers, higher education opportunities, and civic involvement. High school ROTC programs have historically proven to benefit low-income areas by providing structure and purpose for students who might otherwise struggle.
We propose a multifaceted approach to save the Rehobeth High School ROTC program. This includes rallying community support to lobby local government leaders, seeking alternative funding through grants and community fundraising efforts, and creating partnerships with local businesses and veterans' organizations that value the ROTC and its objectives.
We cannot afford to lose a program that contributes so positively to the fabric of our community. Many of our students go on to serve their nation with honor, and it is crucial that we preserve this pathway for future generations.
Sign this petition to join us in our fight to maintain the Rehobeth High School ROTC program. Let's ensure that our youth continue to receive the guidance and opportunities they deserve to succeed.
